DataLEADS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Fact Checking Intern to join our First Check team and play a crucial role in supporting its mission to verify health-related claims and combat misinformation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse team of experts and gain hands-on experience in the field of health communication and fact-checking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research to verify the accuracy of health-related claims and information. This involves cross-referencing multiple reputable sources and databases to ensure the integrity of the information.
  • Work closely with doctors, data scientists, and journalists to gather and analyse data for fact-checking purposes.
  • Assist in creating and editing content that debunks myths and misinformation related to public health. This includes writing reports and summaries of findings.
  • Work closely with the social media team on managing First Check’s online presence, creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and promoting published content.
  • Stay updated on current health news trends and contribute to proactive strategies to address emerging issues
Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in using online research tools and databases is essential.
  • Familiarity with basic fact-checking and OSINT tools like Advanced Search, Google Lens, Google Trends.

POSITION: Social Media Manager

Location: This is a full time position that will require you to work from our office location in New Delhi.

DataLEADS is looking for a dynamic and creative candidate, to join as Social Media Manager on a full-time role. As Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, tracking and optimisation of the presence and campaigns across all social media channels and platforms for DataLEADS and its verticals. You will also be involved in the marketing efforts of the company to help promote the products and services offered to the communities and audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the company’s social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Expand DataLEADS’ social media platforms through consistent, topical content and interaction
  • Lead content curation for social media [text, images, gifs, animations etc.] in sync with the brand and the platforms.
  • Design and implement strategies for the social media presence and brand awareness of DataLEADS, its projects and verticals, to align with business goals

POSITION: Video Intern

Joining: Immediate. The role will require you to work at our office located in New Delhi.

As a Video Intern, you will be part of the video team at DataLEADS. We are looking for
someone who enjoys and knows how to bring a concept or script to life through motion video
and sound. You will be tasked with assisting the video producer in production and editing for
video projects related to but not restricted to health awareness, promotional and
conferences.

APPLICATIONS WITHOUT WORK SAMPLES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the video production team to understand project requirements and
    deliver high-quality videos within deadlines.
  • Conduct basic colour correction, audio mixing, and mastering to enhance the overall
    quality of the videos.
  • Stay up to date with the latest video editing techniques, software, and trends to
    continually improve editing skills.
  • Organise and manage media files, ensuring proper naming, labelling, and storage for
    easy retrieval.
  • Assist in conducting video shoots, including setting up equipment, managing lighting
    and sound, and capturing additional footage if required.
  • Collaborate with the video producer and other team members to brainstorm ideas
    and contribute creative input to video projects.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Video Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects.

POSITION: Editorial Manager (Fact-Checking Desk)

DataLEADS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Editorial Manager  for Fact Checking Desk to join our editorial team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse team of experts and gain hands-on experience in the field of  fact-checking and newsroom management.  It’s an exciting role and you’ll be working in one of the busiest and we think best teams in the country.

Job Responsibility Includes (but not limited to)-
  • Monitor and supervise editorial content for quality checks as per best editorial practices.
  • Determine if the headline and content of the story adheres to the editorial guidelines and the regulatory framework.
  • Ensure editorial balance in a news story and pay attention to details in the headline right down to the conclusion.
  • Coordinate and oversee programme implementation on day to day basis by working closely with different Programme Leads and teams.
  • Tracking news daily to identify and create alerts for events and potential developments.
  • Facilitate daily editorial meetings, ensuring a structured and efficient flow of discussions.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication within the editorial team.
  • To help build collaboration with different stakeholders worldwide for fact-checking and information literacy initiatives.
  • You may be also given work related to other projects or/ and any other projects that we are currently working on.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a newsroom or fact-checking organisation, in an editorial role, with ability to supervise  editorial content which is in multimedia format.
  • Knowledge of editorial guidelines for news and current affairs stories and videos is a must.
  • Awareness about International Fact-Checking Network editorial guidelines and fact-checking tools and techniques is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of quality headline, fact-checking and storytelling is a must.
  • Ability to determine editorial dos and don’ts as per the established benchmarks.
  • Proficiency in English is a must. Fluency in at least two other languages is highly preferred.
  • Experience in handling managerial duties /Demonstration of acute understanding of the ethics of investigative, people-centric journalism.
  • Be collaborative in nature and assertive in making decisions on matters of editorial sensitivity under pressure.
  • People skills are essential and you must have experience of line managing, developing and leading teams.
 Salary:

Salary will depend on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. This is a full-time contractual position based out of Delhi, India.
